Good for the littlest budding riders, if you can get past the mediocre quality, August 1, 2011 By = Durability: = Fun:
= Educational: This review is from: Strider KTM Balance Bike (Sports) I found a better bike! (UPDATE 8/8/11): I've looked over my review, and I'll let it stand as I originally posted, but I found a Giant "Pre Push" in my local shop of similar size to the Strider, and of the level of quality I expect for the price. It was only ten smackers more. So yeah, a bit of buyer's remorse with the Strider.Being a Giant (bicycle brand), it doesn't appear to be sold online, so you'd have to locate a local Giant bicycle dealer to inquire.
I'm a die-hard bike guy, so I have my own "quality" preconceptions to get over, but at face value our Strider PreBike is overpriced for the level of quality it offers. The crunchy headset is embarrassing compared even to cheap bikes found at big box stores, and the one-piece wheel-tires are lightweight molded plastic. I realize that this bike isn't for "real riding" i.e. taking it out on the trail, yet for the money paid I expected just a bit more quality. By comparison, we also own a... Read more

He absolutely loves his bike and looks forward to riding it any chance that he gets. It was easy to assemble and is a great quality product. I recommend this to any parent of an active two year old and above.

Watching him start out running along with his feet like the flinstones then transforming to lifting those feet up and sailing down the road was awesome.
The kids truly do learn how to balance on these bikes. What does that do?
Lets just say our son only needed training wheels for 2 days and that was because he wanted to try them, I think he could have done without them. The pedalling part is the easy part of cycling it is the balance that is hard. So having your child master the balance part and getting that confidence on the balance bike is a huge advantage.
Our son is now four and does things on the bike that freak me out, he has supreme confidence and we have had no bad crashes, I am so thankful for the strider.
