Warning: Two person operation required!, August 25, 2010 By This review is from: Blackburn AirTower HP Pump (Misc.) Hey Blackburn? What good is a lifetime warrantee if the product does not function brand-new? I am very disappointed in this product. The usual adage, "You get what you pay for," does not hold here. I spent many hours researching bicycle pumps online. Most of the pumps out there are complete junk. I finally settled on the Blackburn air Tower HP. I called up eight local Blackburn dealers, but none of them carried this pump, presumably because of the price. So I purchased this item without being able to try it out in person.
Since receiving this pump, I have tried it out on my Trek Madone several times. I have threaded Presta stems. Unfortunately, even now (brand new)it is not possible to securely fasten the Air Tower HP head to the valve stems without actually holding the head on the valve stem at all times. Air continuously leaks out of the tire while the head is on the valve stem, and this worsens when you start pumping, so I guess the engineers at Blackburn expect you to... Read more

I bought this monster of a pump after trying it out at my local bike store. Amazon sells it for cheaper so i bought it here. Fast, secure fit on my Specialized Sirrus that i had for 2-3 years. Once the valve is secure, you can start pumping.There are no leaks. Maybe about ten strokes and I can get to 125 psi. One handed operation is definitely possible, I have used other pumps before and pumping to a psi over 100 can be a pain. But with the Air Tower HP, pumping to 120+ psi(don't need more) was effortless. The air release valve does its job when you over pump, you can let air out slowly to a very precise psi. I'm sorry the other rater had a faulty pump but I have had no problems at all.
