Wonderful addition to your bike., September 16, 2011 By Phongvu (Portland, OR) - See all my reviews This review is from: Bicygnals Indicator Bicycle Light (Sports) I bought my set of Bicygnals 4 years ago before they were imported into the US, I got them out of New Zealand. I have used these year around and through Oregon winters (which is mainly a cold rain) and during the short Oregon summers. I live in Portland and bike 24 miles a day to and from work and I think these are the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel. I was not aware these were not waterproof, as they have kept working through driving rainstorms and I did nothing to waterproof them. The hex wrench is located behind the front reflector on the front bracket, it is very small. Took me two years to find it. But since I always am working on my personal bikes, I have plenty of wrenches so I never really looked.
After 4 years the front bracket is falling apart, and this is because of the few times I have dropped my bike or it fell over, and I need to get a new bracket but the lights are going strong. They are large and take up a lot of room on the handlebars... Read more

I put the batteries in the units, mounted the brackets during Sync.
I tested them on an overcast day and Got the attention of a few people (one guy's jaw hit the floorboard of his woman's tuner honda)
After I got home after a successful test, I found there are 3 different light modes with the signals and exactly how they should be turned on. (yes there's an order of operation.. I'm an experienced RC car user so its really not that uncommon)
Light modes: Mode 1 - The lights flash 3 times and go out. Signals are still usable. (Daylight running conditions)
Mode 2 - Lights solid (My preferred night setup)
Mode 3 - Flashing lights (lights will go solid when signaling)
To use: Turn on the Transmitting unit (front unit) first, then the back unit. The less delay you have in turning them on, the better synched the signals will be. (turn them on at the... Read more

I tried other sets that also featured a brake light, but most of them were cheap construction and hard to install. Bicygnals does a great job of producing a high-quality, easy-to-use product.
I also like the "UFO" look of the product. It definitely gets noticed when I ride!
