I have received more than one comment from other riders who see me from across the mountain bike park where I ride. This light throws the beam farther than I need it. It has made people want to ride in front of me at night so they can see better. I have crashed a few times and it keeps on working. I am thinking about putting the battery inside a bottle to make it a bit more stable than hanging by velcro. That is all I would change. I would recommend it!

But I've seen the prices of expensive systems, so I figured I'd forget about it since I wasn't really sure if I'd use it enough to justify the price.
I moved to a small town and love to ride at night under the street lights. But there are lots of dark streets and alleys that I avoid because I can't see in the pitch black.
Found the XML T6 1000 lumens for about 69 bucks with free shipping here on Amazon and thought what the heck. The reviews said it was really impressive for the price and they were right. Note: I did check out ebay for a better price but could only find better prices from China - didn't want to wait that long...

Used it on an hour night ride today for the first time, in the rain. Works great, paid 75 bucks for it. Would recommend over the other more costly lights for sure. Helmet mount is alittle off, doesnt look like it was designed to fit a bike helmet, rather worn on a bare head. Light charges up fine, and the green led lights up all the time, even when light is off. Probably would buy another. for my helmet.
